Submission procedures

Please see the checklist for first round submission for how to prepare the paper. More detailed style and format guidelines are available but not required for the first round.

Over 95% of submitted papers are blind reviewed by at least one associate editor or ad hoc referee. However, the editors reserve the right to reject a first round submission based on their own reading without an external review. In such a "desk rejection", the editors' remarks constitute the peer review report and no refund of the submission fee will be granted.

Should a submission be accepted for publication, a condition of acceptance and publication will be that the corresponding author, acting on behalf of all co-authors, transfer copyright of the accepted article to the Eastern Finance Association. This transfer will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information.

The submission fee for members of the Eastern Finance Association (EFA) is $50. We accept Discover, MasterCard and Visa, as well as checks, in U.S. funds on a U.S. bank, made payable to “The Financial Review”.

Nonmembers are kindly requested, though not required, to join the EFA before submission. The membership dues are $32, €33 or £22 per year, depending on country of residence. If you join the EFA shortly before submission, please forward your e-mail receipt for membership to our submission e-mail address, or include a hard copy of your receipt with your submission fee check. Both the e-mail and postal addresses are displayed during the submission process. Non-members may choose, instead of joining directly, to pay a submission fee of $110, which includes a one-year membership in the EFA. There will be a lag of several weeks to months in processing the membership from the time the non-member submission fee is paid.
